Life is about sharing. Life is also about changing and therefore reusing. But above all this, it is important to respect people's work.

Hence, the best compromise is Creative Commons creativecommons.org/ .

In fact, if you publish your art with a Creative Commons license instead of a copyright, you can share your art with everybody but you also allow them to reuse it as long as they share alike what they did with your work. That would be a Creative Commons Share Alike License creativecommons.org/licenses/b… for example.
You can also not allow commercial use of your work. In that case, the license will mention "Non-commercial".

Many other possibilities exists. Check them out when you are about to submit new art on DA. Simply click on "Choose a license" and try out different options.

Creative Commons is the path to art's future, make Creative Commons your 2007 resolution. ;)

Yes, I though about writing a bit more but I didn't want to rewrite the whole Creative Commons web site ...

If you have idea of stuff I can add, I'll edit to article (or erase and redo it). ;)

Thanks for your comment, it's always appreciated. =)
